Beware The Devil's Dictionary

Since the beginning of creation, the devil has been trying to deceive men by redefining words and commands of God.  Oddly, man seems to fall for the same temptations time and again.  For many, when they desire something that is not according to God’s will, they will look for anyone to tell them “Peace, Peace” when God said there is no peace.  The devil and his workers are very busy telling men they do not have to keep God’s command here or keep God’s command there, with their ‘you shall not surely die” false doctrines.  Even words have been redefined to keep men in error.  Consider the doctrines you hear.  Are they really just a rephrasing of ‘you shall not surely die?’

Lesson 1:

Faith: The Verdict of Truth and Reason

The scripture teaches without faith it is impossible to please God.  Yet, many deceivers have gone out into the world, trying to redefine faith and keep men from truly walking faithfully.  Consider, however, if one does not know what faith is, how can one be justified by faith?

Lesson 2:

Does God Define Love or Does Man Define Love?

Everybody seems to know that “God is love” (1 John 4:8b).  Some also know that love is one of the core teachings of being a Christian.  Yet, do we know what love really is? Who defines it: God or man?

Lesson 3:

Are Works in Christ and Obedience to Christ Different Things?

Jesus said, “Greater love has no one that this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”  Then Jesus defined who His friends are, by saying, “You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.”  Therefore, the question is — Can you be His friend and not do what He said?

Lesson 4:

Casting the First Stone

This lesson looks into Jesus’ statement in John 8:7.  Even worldy men will quote this passage nowadays to keep others from listening to God’s word.  Is it meant the way many apply it today?  Or, is their meaning of it just another entry into the devils dictionary?

Lesson 5:

Edifying? Edifying into what?

Time and again, it has been said that some kind of denominational practice, though not found in scripture, is edifying.  Do they really know what ‘edifying’ means?  Let us explore why simply calling some practice ‘edifying’ doesn’t prove that practice is done in faith.  Moreover, let us see how one can know how to truly edify according to faith.
